when i was little
my mom
read to me
the story of the water babies.

i don't remember
the story
very well
but
i do remember
loving
the illustrations.
i wanted
to be
a water baby.
i would sit
at
the
bottom
of the
pool
and pretend
i was
in
the world
of the water babies.

vee had her
first outing
to the pool
yesterday.
it was
a beautiful day.
i have
been meaning
to take her
to the pool
for some time.



we did not think
that our
wee grub
would
be able
to tolerate
it but
she seemed
to enjoy it.

she likes
jumping just
about anywhere
but the pool
was especially fun.

as a
swim instructor
& coach
for many years
i took it upon myself
to start her
working
on blowing bubbles...



and kicking.

to relax by
the edge of the pool.




her favorite
pool activity
was playing
by the fountain.

it was time
to relax on the grass
with dad
and aunt pip.




we plan
to go
to the pool
a lot for
the rest of
the summer.
