to snow.
we are back
in switzerland
and
it's a bit
of a shock
to our system.
but it's
also nice
to be home.

since i
have been
back
i can't help
but wonder
if vee
remembers
any of it...
the warm weather
and
hanging out
in just
her diapers?
the walks
on the beach?
will she
remember
spending
time with
her aunties?
or
will
she look
at these
photos
some day
like
they are
photos of
another baby?
will any
of
these moments
seem
familiar
at all?
will
she always
love the beach
and the sound
of the waves
because of it?
few people
claim to
have memories from
when
they are
very young
but it must leave
some imprint...
a familiar scent.
a fondness
for a person
they loved
as a baby.
a love
of the
ocean.
she may
only
ever
remember
what we remember.
what i write
down
here.
